Flathead Respite Care is a social program for people living with memory loss due to Alzheimer’s or dementia where we offer a safe haven and a few hours of love and laughter for the participants.

Activities

Our activities focus on stimulating cognition, nurturing growth, and providing purpose and meaning for participants with memory challenges. We have a team of dedicated volunteers who serve as intentional companions. Participants have the opportunity to socialize with others while enjoying a variety of stimulating activities such as:

• Music and Dance
• Games
• Cognitive Exercise
• Physical Exercise
• Arts and Crafts
• Pet Therapy
• Community Service Projects

When and Where?

Flathead Respite Care meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (603 South Main Street, Kalispell, MT).

Enrollment

Flathead Respite Care is for those individuals with early to mid-stage dementia. In addition, participants must be able:

• To ambulate. The use of a cane, walker, or wheelchair are acceptable.
• To toilet independently. Absorbent briefs are acceptable.
• To eat independently.
• To function cooperatively in a group setting.

Participants and caregivers will meet with the Program Director prior to enrollment and throughout their involvement in the program to ensure they meet the criteria.

Participant Fee

• The $40 per day fee includes four hours of care and a nutritious lunch.
• Invoices are sent via email for the previous month.
• Payments are submitted by check, cash, or online.
• Scholarships are available to those in financial need.
